يوم 27 أوت 2026، تلقت عائلة السجين محمد علي بن زيد خبر وفاته بسجن المرناقية. محمد علي، الذي كان يعاني منذ سنوات من اضطرابات نفسية وعصبية، توفي داخل السجن في وقت تتصاعد فيه حالات الموت خلف القضبان في الفترة الأخيرة. شقيقته تحدثت لنواة عن ظروف وفاته، مطالبة بكشف الحقيقة ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن الإهمال الطبي.
Living within a few square meters, sharing a bed (when the opportunity presents itself), drinking, eating, and sleeping all in the same claustrophobic space, with no view other than the surrounding concrete walls. As Tunisia staggers through crippling heat, thousands of prisoners are serving a double sentence: prison time and the indecent conditions of their detention. يوم 22 جويلية 2026، تلقت عائلة السجين حمزة الدريدي خبر وفاته داخل سجن برج العامري في ظروف غامضة. في حوارها مع نواة تطرح والدته تساؤلات حول ملابسات الوفاة بعد أن أُودع ب”السيلون” كإجراء عقابي عقب آخر زيارة لها يوم 17 جويلية التي اشتكى فيها من قسوة الظروف السجنية والانقطاع المتواصل للمياه.
يوم 1 جانفي 2026 توفّي السجين الهادي الماجري، 67 سنة، بعد أيام قضاها في غيبوبة إثر نقله من سجن المرناڤية إلى مستشفى شارل نيكول، بعد أسبوع من إيداعه السجن. نواة التقت العائلة التي أكدت أنه كان يعاني منذ سنوات من اضطرابات نفسية موثقة، وقد طالبت سابقا بإيوائه بمستشفى الرازي بسبب هشاشة وضعه الصحي، محملة إدارة السجن والفرقة الأمنية التي أوقفته مسؤولية ما تعتبره إهمالا وشبهة اعتداء جسدي، في ظل غياب أي رواية رسمية توضّح ملابسات الوفاة.
تُعدّ ليلى جفّال من الشخصيات المحورية في نظام 25 جويلية، إذ تتولى إدارة وزارة العدل منذ سنة 2021. قبل ذلك، بين سبتمبر 2020 وفيفري 2021 شغلت منصب وزيرة أملاك الدولة والشؤون العقارية ضمن حكومة هشام المشيشي، لتبدي قدرة لافتة على الصمود في موقعها، رغم توالي التغييرات على رأس الحكومات المتعاقبة.

Gilbert Naccache, who passed away on December 26, 2020 at the age of 81, was the nexus of multiple stakes and causes which marked Tunisia since the early 1960s. He may have been the last in a line of a particular breed of public intellectuals: Jews of the Arab lands who rejected the Israeli birthright, which is steeped in sectarianism, colonialism and dispossession, and who claimed the right to belong fully to the lands of their birth. As a wave of “normalisation” with Israel sweeps across the Arab world, his positions are sobering. With Arab politics and society turning to the right, it behoves us to reflect on a life spent on the Left and in opposition to dictatorship and sectarianism. And as we reflect on the tenth anniversary of the Tunisian revolution and the rebellious wave it engendered across the region, we have a duty to remember one of those who paved the way. Along with this, and not to be underestimated, we need to recall Gilbert Naccache the writer.
Face à la crise sanitaire, les regards sont tournés vers les catégories les plus vulnérables dont la population carcérale. Entassés dans des cellules surpeuplées, les prisonniers sont amenés à faire face à des conditions de détention préoccupantes. Et la situation n’a fait que s’empirer pendant la pandémie, alerte quatorze organisations non-gouvernementales. Des réformes urgentes sont réclamées.

لم نكن نقصد الكتابة عن السجون ولا عن السيد الوزير لولا الزيارة الفجئية التي أدّاها السيد محمد صالح بن عيسى تحت الأضواء الى سجن صغير لا يتعدى عدد السجناء المودعين به العشرات – حسب ما أفادت به الوزارة – وهو سجن الرابطة بالعاصمة. دامت الزيارة الاستثنائية يومين حيث لم يكد الوزير يغادر مقر السجن يوم 26 أوت الجاري حتى عاد اليه بعد يوم.
